Proposal to allow outdoor enclosures for chickens in Roswell fails

News

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A proposal to allow chickens in Roswell neighborhoods has failed.

The proposal would have allowed residents to keep chickens, ducks or other poultry in outdoor enclosures.

It was voted down 4-4 during a city council meeting Friday night.

Those opposed say the proposal presented health concerns saying code enforcement already has enough to do.
