Possible water contamination from Roswell dry-cleaners under investigation

News

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Investigators want to get a better idea of the contamination caused by two old dry-cleaning businesses in Roswell.

There’s concern chemicals that seeped in the ground from the businesses in the 1950’s could contaminate the city’s drinking water.

Now the EPA has sent a contractor to collect samples from people’s property. They’ll ask to drill on the property to do so.

The results will help determine what clean up action needs to be taken.
