ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The debate over legalizing marijuana in New Mexico is heating up again after a new survey finds New Mexicans are just fine with pot.
An Albuquerque Journal poll released over the weekend found 61 percent of state voters support legalizing weed. Younger voters were in even stronger support, with 82 percent of those between 18 and 64 on board.
Proposed constitutional amendments in New Mexico have failed to make it onto the ballot in recent years, and Gov. Susana Martinez has long been opposed to legalization.
