Volunteers with AARP New Mexico will be at the state capital asking lawmakers to pass a Senate bill that would give employers access to two types of retirement savings options.

The New Mexico Saves Act would give employers the option to provide their own retirement plan or allow them to use a state retirement savings plan.

Currently, 62 percent of workers in the private sector don’t have access to a retirement savings plan through their work.
