A state lawmaker from southern New Mexico is cycling her way to the legislative session.
Saturday, Rep. Angelica Rubio started her trek on her bike from Las Cruces to Santa Fe.
Sunday afternoon, the Democrat stopped in Truth or Consequences to hold a meet-and-greet with Republican Rep. Rebecca Dow at T or C Brewing.
Rubio hopes her journey will strengthen the connection between southern New Mexico and the legislative process.
She’ll be documenting her trip on social media and is expected to arrive in Santa Fe on January 12.
The session starts on January 15.
Ensuring our communities have a voice in #NMLeg is critical. That’s why I’m riding my bike from LC to Roundhouse to connect southern NM & rural communities to legislators & process.
