President Barack Obama announced his first wave of endorsements, which include New Mexico Democrat Deb Haaland.
Haaland is hoping to take Michelle Lujan Grisham’s seat representing the First Congressional District.
She would be the first Native American woman in Congress.
She’ll face Republican Janice Arnold Jones this fall.
Overall, Obama endorsed 81 people ahead of midterm elections.
His office says he is expected to campaign in several states, but did not say if he would stop in New Mexico.
