New Mexico House Democrats say reinstating UNM’s men’s soccer program will be a priority in the upcoming legislative session.
In July, the UNM Board of Regents cut four sports programs from the UNM Athletics Department, to cut costs and meet federal Title 9 guidelines.
Men’s soccer, the men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams, and the men’s and women’s skiing programs were cut.
Wednesday, representatives said they are committed to funding soccer while ensuring UNM is compliant with Title 9.
