New Mexico’s Congressional delegation responds to Trump, Putin meeting

New Mexico’s Congressional delegation is speaking out about the president’s comments following the meeting between President Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Democrat Senator Martin Heinrich in a statement saying in part the president “made it clear his allegiance is not with the American people.” Heinrich’s statement continues, “now is the time to choose country over party.”

Fellow Democrat Senator Tom Udall calling it a stunning moment adding, the president “attacked the judgment and integrity of his own Intelligence Community”.

Democrat Congressman Ben Ray Lujan tweeting “the president’s refusal to stand up to Putin signals permission to Russia that it is ok to interfere in future elections…”

KRQE News 13 has reached out to New Mexico’s lone Republican U.S. lawmaker Congressman Steve Pearce for comment and have not yet received a response.
