Legislature

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – State lawmakers will hear a bill that would help New Mexico meet its climate goals. House Bill 9 would establish a statewide framework to address climate change.

The bill would also develop a climate leadership council that would make sure the state is meeting requirements and deadlines to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The bill would also allow the council to prioritize how money from clean energy grants would be used.
