The House of Representative passed a bill to expand the hemp industry in New Mexico.

Amended House Bill 581 creates standards form hemp production, testing, research and manufacturing.

Hemp can be made into things like CBD oils, textiles and cosmetics. The measure must be approved by the Senate before heading to the governor’s desk.

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham said Friday she supports the bill.
