NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico now has an Office of Special Education which is the first of its kind for the state. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham created the office through an executive order Thursday.
Officials said the office, which will operate within the Public Education Department, will work to ensure school districts are providing the best possible special education services to students. A national search for a director of the new office is now underway.
