Santa Fe voters approve tax on wealthy home buyers

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe voters approved a tax on wealthy home buyers. For homes costing more than $1M, the measure adds a 3% excise tax on every dollar over that $1M. That money will go toward the city’s affordable housing fund.

The Santa Fe Association of Realtors lobbied against the measure.
