The Colfax County Clerk’s office has announced a plan that will allow Colfax County residents who have been displaced by the Ute Park Fire to cast their 2018 Primary Election ballots at alternative locations.
A mandatory evacuation order was issued for the village of Cimarron on Friday and for the community of Ute Park on Saturday.
On Monday, the evacuation order for Cimarron was lifted and residents were cleared to return to their homes.
Due to the evacuation order being lifted, voters Ute Park and Cimarron will be able to vote at their regular polling location at Cimarron City Hall, 356 E. Ninth Street #B, on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 5.
Voters who remain displaced by the fire will also be able to cast a provisional ballot at the Raton Convention Center, 901 S. Third Street, or at Eagle Nest Community Center, 151 Willow Creek Drive.
