It’s Election Day and people have been hitting the polls all day.

More than half a million voters across the state have already cast their ballot.

According to the County Clerk’s Office, one of the busiest poll locations Tuesday was on 98th Street and Central Avenue.

However, with little to no wait times at any of the Bernalillo County voting locations, people were overall in good moods.

“I love to exercise my right to vote, I think that we all need to participate in every aspect of our life in this beautiful country,” said Sandra Bryan.

So far in Bernalillo County, about 40,000 voters voted Tuesday. That’s in addition to the 149,000 early voters who already cast their ballots.

According to the Secretary of State’s Office as of 1:30 p.m., statewide, 89,000 voters took to the polls.

Democratic voters have outpaced Republicans, but there are more registered Democrats in the state.

The other busy location Petroglyph Plaza on Golf Course.

The polls will be open until 7 p.m.
