KRQE News 13 Statewide New Mexico Poll

KRQE News 13 conducted a statewide survey from October 19-24, 2018 asking 400 likely-to-vote New Mexicans, a series of questions regarding the upcoming elections. 

Respondents were randomly selected from an online panel of New Mexico registered voters, who were screened to be likely voters in 2018. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4.9%. The survey was administered in English and Spanish with respondents having the option to take the survey in their preferred language.

Poll Questions & Responses

Regardless of how you may be planning to vote in the upcoming election, when it comes to politics, do you generally think of yourself as a Republican, a Democrat, an independent, or something else?

  • Democrat 43%
  • Republican 38%
  • Independent 16%
  • Other party 2%

And if the November election for governor were held today, would you be more likely to vote for the: Democratic candidate, Michelle Lujan Grisham or the Republican candidate, Steve Pearce?

  • Michelle Lujan Grisham 48%
  • Steve Pearce 39%
  • Undecided 13%

Here is the projected final vote with “ Undecided    when asked who they are leaning towards: 

  • Michelle Lujan Grisham 55%
  • Steve Pearce 45%

If the election for US Senate were held today and the candidates were Martin Heinrich, the Democrat, Mick Rich, the Republican, or Gary Johnson the Libertarian candidate, for whom would you vote?

  • Martin Heinrich 40%
  • Mick Rich 28%
  • Gary Johnson 22%
  • Undecided 11%

Here is the projected final vote with “Undecided “when asked who they are leaning towards:

  • Martin Heinrich 45%
  • Mick Rich 32%
  • Gary Johnson 22%

Would you support/oppose a bill to legalize, tax and regulate marijuana sales to adults who are 21 years of age or older if it were considered by the New Mexico state legislature?

  • Oppose: 18%
