Ban-the-box bill heads to the governor's desk

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) - A new "ban the box" bill removing criminal history questions from job applications is heading to the governor's desk.

Under the proposal, private employers wouldn't be able to consider an applicant's criminal history until after the initial application and interview.

Democratic Senator Bill O'Neill's bill passed the House floor. If signed, New Mexico would become the 12th state to impose similar regulations.
