SANTA FE (KRQE) – Deputies say a driver tried to bury his keys to avoid being arrested.
Officials say Tuesday night Tommy Archuleta was spotted hitting a curb as he tried to avoid a DWI checkpoint. Authorities say he got out, tried to bury his car keys in the ground and then claimed it was his brother who was driving. However, officials say no one was with him in the car.
Archuleta was avoiding the checkpoint because he had a revoked license due to a previous DWI charge. Officials say there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Deputies arrested Archuleta and seized his car.
