Police: Man arrested for throwing rocks at restaurant, police station

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man said he just wanted to get police officers’ attention, and he did, but not in the right way.

Albuquerque Police Department officers arrested 28-year-old Victor Martinez over the weekend after a witness saw him throwing rocks at the Central Grill and the APD substation on Central Avenue and Rio Grande Boulevard.

Martinez told police he threw the rocks to get their attention because he was afraid someone was chasing him.

Last month, other business along Central Avenue in that area were vandalized with big rocks. KRQE News 13 asked if Martinez was a suspect, and they said that’s something detectives are looking into.
