ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department says officers are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle in southwest Albuquerque.

APD says the crash happened at the intersection of Sage and Blazick SW. Their initial investigation shows that a vehicle was attempting to make a left-hand turn at Sage from Blazick when it was struck by a motorcycle traveling east on Sage. Police say the motorcyclist’s speed may have been a factor in the crash.

Police say the motorcyclist was transported to UNM Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.

APD says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
