Police impersonator pleads guilty

News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man who posed as an Albuquerque Police Department officer to steal from a home is going to prison for at least a decade.

Earlier this year, Shane Garcia and another man broke into a home near Osuna and Vista del Norte, saying they were officers executing a search warrant.

They were armed with semi-automatic handguns and all of it was caught on surveillance video.

On Thursday, Garcia pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and other charges and under a plea agreement will serve at least ten years.
