Police: Hobbs couple died in suspected murder-suicide

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – The investigation into the deaths of a Hobbs husband and wife continues, but investigators said at this point, it appears to be a murder suicide.

The body of 48-year-old Amanda McGraw was found Sunday night at her home. A few hours later, the body of her husband, 54-year-old John McGraw Sr. was found in a field.

While investigators were calling his death suspicious, they said Tuesday it appears to be the result of suicide. They are, however, still waiting on the Office of the Medical Investigator’s official finding.

Amanda McGraw was a well-known nurse practitioner in Hobbs.

The couple leaves behind four kids.
