Police arrest doughnut truck thief

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Deputies have arrested a man they say stole a food truck but didn’t hide it very well.

Gregory Romero, 45, is accused of stealing a doughnut truck from the owners’ driveway Tuesday night.

The McDermott family had just moved to Albuquerque from Alamogordo to expand their business, Micro Doughnuts.

The family says they got tips on Facebook saying the truck was parked under a tree in a southwest neighborhood and that’s where they found it.

When deputies questioned the homeowner, the woman said Romero told her he was going into the doughnut business.

Deputies say Romero tried to flee. He was caught and arrested.
