ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Balloon Fiesta hasn’t been the same without our beloved Sky News 13 pilot Bob Martin.

Bob passed away last month after a helicopter crash.

He covered countless Balloon Fiestas over the years, giving ever

yone a bird’s eye view of the event.

Thursday, he was honored by the city with a memorial plaque that will be placed at Balloon Fiesta Park.

“I can’t imagine a greater honor than to have something that when everyone comes in through these gates that they see Bob’s name here and they know who this great New Mexican was,” balloon pilot Troy Bradley said.

Bob had a passion for helicopters, planes and hot air balloons. He even flew in the America’s Challenge Gas Balloon Race.
