PED dedicates $1M to helping recruit teachers

News

The Public Education Department is hoping $1 million will help the state recruit teachers.

PED says it will split the money according to district size among every school district and charter school.

It can be used for recruitment strategies including signing bonuses, travel costs, website upgrades and ads for job posts.

PED’s secretary says they’re not just competing with other states, but with other industries.
