Parents outraged school didn’t disclose feces incident sooner

Parents are outraged and say what happened to their kids in school was disgusting and the school tried to cover it up.

“He was putting his feces in the other classmates’ faces,” parent Misty Emsley said.

“I feel violated, disgusted and sick somebody would put feces in my son’s mouth,” parent Jennifer Cisneros said.

Parents say in February, a student in their kindergarten class at Albuquerque’s Armijo Elementary School had an accident in his pants, then took the feces and put it on classmates, even in one student’s mouth.

They say their teacher told them Wednesday and wanted to tell them months ago, but claims the principal didn’t want the parents to know.

Three mothers said they didn’t like how it was handled.

“They were sent to the nurse, they got wiped up, some were given mints and candies and sent back to the classroom,” parent Clare Jacobs said.

The parents went to police and filed a report. One of them has also hired an attorney.

Albuquerque Public Schools declined to comment.
