Topgolf has selected a contractor for its Albuquerque location — and they’re not from New Mexico.
According to The Albuquerque Journal, the Dallas-based company has selected Illinois based Arco-Murray as general contractor.
Topgolf plans to build a $39 million restaurant and gold entertainment complex at the corner of Montano and I-25 where The Beach waterpark used to be.
The agreement includes giving Topgolf more than $4 million in tax breaks and incentives from both the city and county.
While they chose an out-of-state contractor, City Councilor Ken Sanchez tells the Journal that the company plans to hire as many local sub-contractors as it can.
The city’s economic development director says Topgolf has long made it known it plans to use the contractor.
