A ranch in the South Valley is giving kids big confidence and teaching people more than how to ride and care for horses.
“We have rodeo, trail riding, beginning horsemanship, intermediate level one, two and three which is learning about horses: how to care for horses,” Orona’s Ranch Owner and Operator Gloria Orona said.
She and her husband have trained award-winning youth to compete in rodeos across the state by transforming their property into an equine facility, where they have been hosting lessons and more for about 17 years.
Orona said it’s so fulfilling to see how her students’ interaction with horses helps their confidence.
And for those with disabilities, she said it can even help their health.
“They went from non-verbal to verbal and from medication to no longer taking medication,” Orona said.
Anyone with an interest in riding horses can schedule a lesson or a trail ride. For more information, click here.
