Organizers prepare to kick off Gathering of Nations on Friday

KRQE News 13 is getting a preview of this year’s Gathering of Nations.

The 36th annual Pow Wow kicks of Thursday with the start of the Miss Indian World Pageant.

On Friday morning, live musical performances prelude the grand entry at Tingley Coliseum.

“We’ve got plenty of room for everybody and it’s rain or shine, inclement weather, we’ve got you covered…and come out. Our food is great, roving performances all around,” Derek Mathews, Gathering of Nations founder, said.

This year, you can also see the world’s largest wooden teepee standing 54-feet tall, beating the record holder in Switzerland by 24 inches.
