SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Department of Game and Fish will let hunters who applied for New Mexico big-game licenses know their draw results early this year.
Hunters will be able to check the draw results through the online license application system.
At 10 a.m. the department began sending emails to successful applicants and posting draw results to accounts, two weeks earlier than expected.
“The paperless online system is getting more efficient each year,” department Director Alexa Sandoval said in a press release. “We are able to process and audit all our applications sooner than anticipated, which means earlier draw results. For many hunters, that’s like Christmas in April.”
Almost 190,000 applications were received for about 59,000 deer, elk, antelope, oryx, ibex, barbary sheep and javelina licenses.
