Online portal connects Albuquerque residents to volunteer opportunities

The city is making it easier than ever to help your community.

A brand-new initiative called “One Albuquerque Volunteers” will allow residents to create an online profile with personal interests, then find correlating volunteer opportunities close to home.

About 500 options are already listed, including working with city parks, helping remap public transit, and assisting the Albuquerque Police Department with new substations.

“We have some of the most caring and giving, thoughtful and talented people that you could possibly find and our goal is to encourage those people in the many, many positive aspects of civil life in the place where our city could use the talents and help,” said CABQ Parks and Recreation Director Dave Simon.
