CATRON COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Town Of Gabriella, an American Western town made by a Catron County man, is now open to the public.
The town was built in Datil, New Mexico from scratch by 70-year-old Larry Iams who followed his nearly life-long dream to create this town, by hand, with the help of a friend.
Iams has envisioned the town as a venue for weddings, birthday parties and even gun fight reenactments. He even hopes that people could one day book a room in the “Horse Peak Hotel.”
The Old West era town is open to the public Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The town is on Iam’s property at #23 Frontier Trail in Datil, New Mexico.
People have even been encouraged to bring their dogs.
