An Albuquerque Animal Welfare officer went above and beyond the call of duty on his day off.
Corporal Hevey was out running errands when he came across a small dog standing in the middle of a busy street.
The dog was clearly panicked.
Corporal Hevey pulled over and was able to get the dog into his car.
The dog, named “Pocket,” was taken to the eastside shelter and was identified through his microchip.
Corporal Hevey even took the time to deliver “Pocket” right to his relieved owners.
