ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The two men accused of murdering a homeowner trying to stop a burglary appeared in court Friday.
Craig Whited and Tyler Hernandez were arraigned on murder charges.
The Albuquerque Police Department says 55-year-old William McKinley was stabbed to death last month when he confronted Whited and Hernandez breaking into his car in his Four Hills neighborhood.
Police say the two took off in a 1988 Chevy Blazer. They found the door at one of the suspect’s relative’s home and later located the SUV.
That relative has since been charged with tampering with evidence.
A judge decided to hold both Whited and Hernandez without bond.
