NMSU threatening to fire former Trump administration appointee

News

New Mexico State University is threatening to fire former Trump administration appointee Gavin Clarkson.

Trump named him a senior official in the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He resigned in November and announced his bid for Congress.

Clarkson says his leave was approved to run through 2020, but the university is now saying that leave has been revoked and Clarkson will be terminated if he doesn’t return to work.

NMSU has declined comment.
