Some fans at a United soccer game got a little too rowdy when the opposing team tied up the game and bragged about it. It all started when players from the Portland Timbers 2 team showboated after a player landed a penalty kick on Friday.
Members of the crowd began throwing beer and other drinks at the players in response. However, United’s goalie, Cody Mizell, stepped in to shield them.
A support group for United, The Curse, is asking fans to be better and to keep it classy at all home games in the future. No one was ejected from the match, however, Albuquerque Police Department lingered in the area.
