Musical Theatre Southwest Celebrating 60 Years of Business

Musical Theatre Southwest (MTS), Albuquerque’s premiere Community Theater, will be celebrating it’s 60th Anniversary with a formal Gala on February 2.

Sixty years is a remarkable lifespan for any theater company, especially in a city like Albuquerque, which is blessed with so many.

Musical Theatre Southwest is especially proud of the many years they provided the city with a wide scope of musicals, operettas, original shows and New Mexico premieres since we were incorporated in 1959.

MTS invites the Albuquerque community to join them and enjoy an evening of fine dining, dancing and entertainment by their own performers.

In addition, there will be raffles for tickets to other theater companies, restaurant gift certificates and other delights.

A silent auction is also underway for valuable items that include a vacation getaway to New Orleans, Jewelry from Shelton Jewelers, massages, beauty treatments, customized photography and many other valuable items.

The gala will be the kickoff to a season of favorite shows including Chicago in April, Newsies in July, Hedwig and the Angry Inch in October and Matilda-The Musical in December.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner at 6 p.m., the entertainment and dancing until 11 p.m.

Tickets for the Gala are $60 per person and can be purchased by clicking here.
