From growing up in Santa Fe, to becoming the first woman assigned to the Dallas Cowboys beat from any news entity, Marjorie Herrera Lewis has done so much in her career as a journalist.

Marjorie has lived in Texas since 1980 but was born and raised in Santa Fe and is a graduate of St. Michael’s High School.

Marjorie was the first woman assigned to the Dallas Cowboys beat from any news entity when she was with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in the 1980s.

On top of also being an assistant football coach at Texas Wesleyan University back in 2017… Marjorie’s knowledge of football and passion for writing helped her significantly when writing the novel “When the Men Were Gone.”
