The New Mexico State Climate Office and the CoCoRaHS state coordinator are located at the Las Cruces main campus of New Mexico State University.
CoCoRaHS is a volunteer, grassroots, citizen science organization in all 50 states and Canada. They specialize in rain, hail and snow observations. They are a network of volunteers who have a passion for weather and a desire to help out the community by taking precipitation measurements.
CoCoRaHS (pronounced “cocoa-raa-z”) or Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow network is nation-wide, but they have more than 500 active observers in New Mexico who enter their rain, hail or snow observations each day.
