Albuquerque says ‘bye’ to 2018 in style

This week in Albuquerque, ring in the New Year with delicious food, balloons and trolleys.

Here is a list of some of the events happening this week to close out 2018.

Brew Year’s Eve Dinner

New Year, new beer!

Rio Bravo Brewing Company is celebrating the launch of their newest brew with a white and black themed New Year’s Eve party.

The evening will begin with dinner in the barrel room where a full four-course meal will be served, and a specialty beer will be paired with each course (including dessert!).

Dinner will be followed with live music, party favors and a champagne toast.

Ice Qube Skating at Civic Plaza

For the fourth year in a row, slap on your skates and head downtown for some “ice” skating in Civic Plaza.

The rink is actually made from a synthetic material, not ice which makes the rink less slick and great for beginners!

Decorations will still be up in the plaza, prime time to squeeze in the last bit of holiday cheer.

Midnight might be too late for the kids to celebrate the beginning of a new year, but Explora has them covered; celebrate with a countdown and balloon drop at noon!

Balloons will be dropped from the ceiling down to the fountain below during the extravaganza.

Get to Explora a little early to check out the exhibits before it closes early for the holiday.
