Two New Mexico schools identified for more rigorous intervention

News Briefs

The state identified two schools that need intervention.

According to the Public Education Department, R. Sarracino Middle School in Socorro and Questa Junior High in northern New Mexico both earned their fifth “F” grade in a row following the 2017-2018 school year.

The state gives chronically failing schools four options: close for good, restart as a charter school, find students a school that might be a better fit or restructure the school.
