Texas company to pay New Mexico $3.2 million in illegal pipeline settlement

LEA COUNTY, N.M (KRQE) - A Texas oil and gas company is shelling out millions to New Mexico for conducting its operations on state land.

Earlier this year, Land Commissioner Aubrey Dunn accused Salt Creek Midstream of trespassing and laying pipeline on trust land in Lea County without getting permission.

Now Dunn has announced the company has agreed to a $3.2 million settlement.

That money will go toward New Mexico schools.
