Sunport reports record-setting snowfall

News Briefs

The recent winter weather is setting a new record in the metro.

On New Year’s Day, the Sunport recorded snowfall of two inches over a 24-hour period.

This beats the previous record of 1.3 inches set on New Year’s Day back in 1936.

The Sunport has only seen that amount of snow eight other times in the past decade.
