Roswell has become the latest community to call itself a sanctuary city.

According to the Roswell Daily Record, the city council approved a measure to become a so-called “Second Amendment Sanctuary City”. Several counties including Chaves and Otero County have approved similar moves.

Roswell’s vote comes after the governor signed a bill requiring background checks for guns sold privately and at gun shows.
