Reservoir southeast of Durango to be drained for maintenance

News Briefs

A reservoir near Durango is about to go dry and it’s not the work of mother nature.

The Pastorius Reservoir southeast of town is being drained to allow for dam repairs and to also get rid of an invasive species.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife says the Northern Pike was illegally stocked in the reservoir and is taking over.

According to the Durango Herald, once the reservoir is refilled in the spring it will be stocked with trout and other fish.
