Regulators cracking down on violations in Permian Basin

News Briefs

Regulators are looking to crack down on air quality violations by the oil and gas industry.

The state environment department has conducted nearly a hundred inspections in the Permian Basin.

Inspectors use infrared cameras to detect emissions that are invisible to the naked eye. It could take several more weeks or even months to determine which cases will be pursued.
