Prescribed burns planned for the Santa Fe National Forest

SANTA FE, N.M .(KRQE) - Forest officials are planning on conducting prescribed burns in the Santa Fe National Forest.

Starting Tuesday, fire managers will begin treating about 500 acres in the Gallinas Watershed.

Weather permitting, they will continue treating the area through the end of January.

Smoke may be visible from the Las Vegas area.
