A metro police officer was recognized for his bravery during the V. Sue Cleveland High School shooting.

Back in February, 16-year-old Joshua Owen fired a gun at the school. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Thursday, Rio Rancho Police Department presented Officer Ben Wysong with an award, commending him for his actions that day.

The officer helped students during evacuations and played a big part in arresting Owen.
