PNM announces plan to 165-mile Western Spirit transmission line

The Public Service Company of New Mexico is expanding its operations. Wednesday, the company announced plans to acquire a 165-mile transmission line from the state’s renewable energy transmission.

Known as the Western Spirit transmission project, the Albuquerque Journal reports that the project’s been in the works since 2010 and will carry electricity from wind farms being built in the Estancia Valley near Corona.
