In line with National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 27, the state will have drop-off zones available.

In Albuquerque, the Natural History Museum is one of many locations that will accept expired and unused prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the National Survey on Drug Use, 6 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs in 2017.

The study shows a majority of abused prescriptions came form family and friends, often from home medicine cabinets.
