New Mexico governor signs bill adopting dental therapists programs

News Briefs

Low income and rural families will now have better access to dental care. The governor also signed off on House Bill 308.

It gives residents who may not have insurance or ways to get dentist access to a dental therapist. Therapists are trained to provide some of the services performed by dentists with a lower-level of supervision.

The goal is to get them to under-served or rural areas.
